Faith Technologies Supports Breast Cancer Awareness

The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, designated to increase awareness of the disease and raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. According to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with breast cancer every 2 minutes. There are currently 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S., and this number continues to increase annually, due in large part to annual checkups.

Faith Technologies has supported and participated in Breast Cancer Awareness Month for a number of years, as breast cancer affects us all. Whether it’s our mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, friends, families – many of us have been affected by breast cancer in some way. Every year, Wear Pink Day is coordinated during the month of October for our employees to wear pink as a visible way to be part of the cure and support those affected by breast cancer.

This year, Faith Technologies’ Safety, Wellness and Community Relations teams have partnered for a Pink Shirt Campaign. In conjunction with our Safety team’s “What’s Your Why?” campaign focusing on each employee’s reason for why they work safely each day, Faith Technologies asked our employees to consider the question “What’s Your Why?” for making a personal commitment to their health and well-being as well.

The Pink Shirt Campaign was launched when a field employee shared his touching story about why he works safely each day, and acknowledged that we can all make a difference by raising awareness for breast cancer, showing support and getting regular check-ups. The campaign reminds us that we are all in this together, and that being safe, making healthy choices and helping others is a personal choice for each one of us. With this campaign, Faith has offered all employees complimentary breast cancer awareness shirts in hopes of encouraging more employees to share their “whys” for staying safe and healthy.

In addition to employees wearing their pink shirts during the month of October, our team members are also raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. BCRF is recognized as one of the most financially efficient nonprofits in the country and is the highest rated breast cancer charity in the United States. Faith Technologies’ fundraising goal was $1,000, which will also be matched by the company, but we have already exceed our goal and have raised nearly $4,000! If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, please visit their website.

Please consider joining us this October by wearing your favorite pink attire during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to show your support, as well as to honor all those who have fought or are currently fighting this disease. We’d also like you to consider YOUR why for all aspects of your life. What you do matters, but why you do it matters much more.
