Project Overview:
Paul J. Olson Elementary School is a two-story, 86,000 square foot masonry building with a standing-seam metal roof and aluminum window framing is the newest addition to the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), located on Madison’s west side. It is a LEED Certified building incorporating many features to reduce energy consumption and provides a model for students to learn from.
The school is on the cutting edge of energy efficiency with a geothermal heating and cooling, day lighting concepts, energy efficient equipment, materials that improve air quality, and a photovoltaic solar panel system installed by Faith Technologies.
Faith Technologies scope of work included the electrical, security, and low voltage cabling, as well as the installation of the 25.2 KW photovoltaic system which was MMSD’s first photovoltaic installation. A significant amount of preplanning and detailing work allowed for this project team to work effectively on this project.
