Cabela’s Retail Store Electrical Installation Project

The new Cabela’s Retail Store is an awesome addition to Southeastern Wisconsin. This massive 165,000 square foot retail store is packed with everything imaginable when it comes to hunting, fishing and camping gear. You’ll be amazed by the 40,000 gallon aquarium packed with Wisconsin native fish, a life size mountain with over 100 animal mounts and two waterfalls, a 25,000-square-foot wildlife museum and an African Diorama.

This store is served with a 3,000 amp 480/277 volt service and was needed to power almost 1,000 2X4 troffers, over 4,000 feet of track lighting and more than 100 double, triple and quad head high bay lights hanging from the almost 60 foot high peak down the middle of the building.

We were faced with a very demanding, tight schedule on this project, placing the first piece of conduit in the dirt in late April of 2006. The project was substantially complete on August 1, 2006 and Cabela’s opened the doors to the public on September 22, 2006. Completing 26,000 hours of electrical work for the project in a very tight time frame would not have been possible without continuous communication and coordination with the general contractor and all subcontractors.
