Faith Technologies Sponsor of Fox Cities Festival of Lights

Inaugural Event Will be Powered via a Renewable Energy Microgrid

Menasha, Wis. (Nov. 27, 2019) – Faith Technologies, a national leader in electrical planning, engineering, design and installation, is a sponsor of the inaugural Fox Cities Festival of Lights. The event kicks off on Friday, Nov. 29 and will take place at the Darboy Community Park in the Village of Harrison.

Faith is teaming with energy partners Excellerate Manufacturing and DCentrIQ to power up to two-thirds of the light displays using renewable energy.

“We’ve brought in one of our easily deployable microgrids to power the lights in a more remote area of the park, where it would be difficult to get standard electrical power,” said Steve Nieland, solutions architect for Faith Technologies. “The microgrid is made up of solar panels plus a battery system, to get energy from the sun during the day and store it for use at night. To the best of our knowledge, this festival will be the first of its kind nation-wide to be powered by a microgrid.”

More than 100,000 lights will light the more than 50 different handmade displays along the park’s half-mile walking trail. The event was organized and is run entirely by volunteers, led by event founder and president, Shaun Forslund.

The Fox Cities Festival of Lights will be open on Friday and Saturday nights from November 29 through December 14, and nightly between December 20-31. Event hours are 5-9 p.m.

Besides the light displays, visitors can also visit with Santa in his workshop. Admission is free to the public; however, donations will be accepted to support the festival’s future growth. For more information, visit the event Facebook page.
