GRANDVIEW COMMUNITY CENTER
The Grandview Community Center is a newly constructed 60,000-square-foot community center. The building houses a 29-foot tall free-form climbing wall, gymnasium that includes two full courts, pool area that includes a lap pool, activities pool and 22-foot waterslide, locker rooms, suspended walk/jog track, fitness area, dance/aerobics room, banquet room, kitchen and numerous city offices.
The electrical portion of the project included the installation of a 1600 Amp service with three transformers and seven sub-panels. The structure for the pool and gym was pre-cast concrete, and Faith Technologies had to install all conduits other than the lighting in the pre-cast or under the slab. In the pool area and pool equipment room all conduit and boxes had to be aluminum. For the lighting in the pool this meant cutting and threading the conduit into 5-foot lengths in order to install it up in the pre-cast double T’s.
The design-build group managed the project in a fashion that exemplified the Faith Technologies reputation on a high profile job for a well-known general contractor. The entire crew put in the extra effort and many hours to overcome multiple obstacles on a very demanding project.
