Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s west tower expansion consisted of the construction of a 12-story hospital building. The new building brings the total number of beds at the hospital to 294, with enough expansion capabilities to support an additional 72 for future development. It also includes expanded Pediatric Intensive Care Units, three 24-bed acute care units and a comprehensive Herma Heart Center.

Faith Technologies’ scope of work encompassed the low voltage cabling for the telephones, computers, clinical engineering & biomedical equipment, WLAN and overhead paging speakers. Our work also included the fiber optic and copper backbone cabling tie-ins to the existing campus infrastructure.

Due to the quality of Faith Technologies work and the confidence the owner had in our services, additional scope was added which included the installation of a distributed antenna system for Verizon Networks, a design-assist engagement with Children’s Hospital for their Cisco AiroNet Wireless Local Area Network, and the design and installation of a multi-zone, message broadcast paging system.

Oscar J. Boldt Construction, the General Contractor on the project, used a powerful system of processes and procedures which we were glad to be a part of. In addition to Boldt’s system, and Faith’s standard operating procedures and practices, our project team communicated directly with the engineers, the other trades and the customer in an effort to ensure we were working as a cohesive team.
