Hickory Meadows Landfill

Hilbert, WI

Hickory Meadows Landfill is a design-build project to Veolia Energy, the owner. This landfill gas-to-energy facility, which is LEED® certified, utilizes landfill gas to turn generators and create power to sell to the power company.

Faith Technologies’ scope of work included automation and process controls, electrical, electrical risk management, cabling, fire alarm systems, lighting (LED wall-packs were used to meet LEED® requirements), and video surveillance. The incoming power here included an 800amp 480/277 volt service, which fed building loads, as well as a 600amp MCC. The outgoing power here included three 1,600kw 4,160 volt generators that were connected to 1,200 amp paralleling switchgear. The power went from this switchgear to a 6000kva 4,160volt/24,900 volt step-up transformer, to a pad mount 600amp vacuum switch, and then to the power company grid.

Faith Technologies worked closely with Miron Construction, the general contractor, and Cornerstone Environmental Group, the engineering company, to keep the project within budget and on schedule.
