Faces of Faith Technologies | Meet Brandon, Electrical Apprentice

At Faith Technologies, we have some amazing employees who make our culture unique. The Faces of Faith Technologies series aims to highlight the talented individuals who work with us. Each month, we’ll introduce you to several of these individuals so you can get to know the ‘Faces of Faith Technologies.’ We recently talked to Brandon Goad, an Electrical Apprentice Indentured – Year 3 from our Nashville, TN branch. Here’s what he had to say:

What led you to work for Faith Technologies?

My brother-in-law got hired on as an assistant project manager when the Nashville office first opened. They were looking for helpers and he encouraged me to apply. At the time I was working at McDonald’s and wanted a career change; I gave the job a try and of course it was hard, but it paid off. I’ve enjoyed working at Faith ever since.

How has your position changed over time?

When I first started as a helper, I needed to learn everything. Over time, the more you see and the more you work through the processes, learn about safety, and become exposed to everything that happens on a jobsite, the easier it gets and the more involved you become.

What does your position entail?

I am currently on the Orlando project where we are roughing in. My current day to day starts with ORM planning and involves running a lot of conduit.

What are some of your favorite things about your job?

I think one of my favorite things is seeing things come together. I like putting a lot of hard work into something and getting to see the final product, especially if it’s something that amazes people. I also really enjoy how much you grow as a person. This job allows you to become a good electrician, you are given the skills to effectively work on a team, work safely and you learn that there is a lot that goes into a single job. The longer you are in the trade the more you learn.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?

I like to program and code experimental apps and games in my spare time. I also spend time playing video games and playing with Tesla and Coconut.

Are there any personal accomplishments you would like to share?

I think starting this job as a career is a big accomplishment for me, because it’s a big change from working at McDonald’s.

What’s your why?

My why is my girlfriend and my two animals. I look at my animals as my kids and that’s my reason to come home safe every day.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I think in five years, I see myself as a foreman. I plan to get my journeyman’s license by the end of this year, which will be a huge accomplishment. I want to be a foreman over power distribution.
