Faith Technologies Project Spotlight: Affinity Clinic

Affinity Clinic

Last week, Faith Technologies  had the honor of being recognized by The Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Wisconsin as a 2013 Build Wisconsin Award winner for work at Affinity Clinic, located in Neenah, Wis. The project was selected as a winning entry in the “specialty contractor – electrical category,” and all award entries were evaluated based on sustainable practices, unique design and craftsmanship, innovations in construction techniques or materials, meeting difficult challenges, and earning client satisfaction.

Affinity is a Menasha-based regional healthcare provider, and the Fox Valley’s second largest employer with nearly 5,000 employees.

In November 2011, Affinity Medical Group broke ground on the new $9,000,000 medical clinic on 1.5 acres of the former Glatfelter paper mill in downtown Neenah; a previously abandoned city site. The new 32,000 square foot facility opened its doors in November 2012, and is the first two-story clinic (and largest) in the Affinity Network, accommodating both a medical clinic and urgent care services.

On this project, Hoffman LLC was the general contractor, and Flad Architects was selected to design the clinic as part of a combined design-build team with them. The building, which is pending a LEED Gold rating by the U.S. Green Building Council, was constructed with a focus on sustainable methods and materials. Many sustainable features contained within the new clinic include daylight tracking, lighting control systems, skylights on the upper floor, and site lighting using LED technology and fully-automated control.

Faith Technologies’ scope of work included both electrical system and specialty systems work. Our team installed an 800-amp service, Cornell Nurse Call system, 75 public access (PA) system speakers in public spaces, eight closed-circuit television (CCTV) locations, and the cabling for 18 intrusion detection devices, 18 access control locations, eight water detection devices, fire alarm systems, and energy efficient lighting.

Through teamwork, innovation, and a heartfelt commitment, the Affinity Clinic project was completed on schedule, allowing the owner to move in on time to better serve the healthcare needs of the Neenah area.
