Faith Technologies Project Spotlight: Hilbert School District

In August 2016, the Hilbert School District in Hilbert, WI, welcomed more than 400 students back to school with a newly-renovated building, bringing elementary, middle school and high school students under one roof. Since the early 2000s, the district had been evaluating options for the aging elementary school, and in 2015, voters agreed to build a new elementary school and gym attached to the middle-high school.

Faith Technologies was contracted to provide electrical, fire alarm systems, audio systems, data communication cabling and fiber optics, and CCTV and camera cabling to this education-sector project. Utilizing Excellerate, our manufacturing solutions facility, we provided preassembled box assemblies for roughing in the wall, speed pulls for branch wiring, and larger conduit fixtures fitted per area, which helped make this project more productive and safe and also provided a cost savings.

Extensive scheduling, weekly team meetings and constant communication created an effective partnership among all trade partners as we overcame several challenges, including an accelerated schedule and working with the building’s existing conditions.

Providing uninterrupted service during the project was also a requirement. Throughout the construction, the school needed to continue running at all times, which created challenges for many of the trades involved. Using past experiences and a team approach, Faith coordinated with the school to plan a single five-hour outage. This allowed several trades the ability to work through the large portions of the project that normally could not be completed due to the live power. More importantly, it created a safer work environment for all!

Faith’s partnership with the customer allowed us to be critical decision makers, resulting in smooth project completion. Thanks to the Faith crew and our trade partners, this project was completed successfully and on time without any setbacks.
