Faith Technologies Project Spotlight: SkyHouse Austin

When Faith Technologies was tasked with seven high-rise projects for Batson Cook – in five different cities, with a 12- to 14-month construction schedule for each – efficiency became crucial. The company’s 25 years of multi-family project experience positioned us well to take on this work and collaborate with all trades to identify opportunities for increased productivity.

We’re excited to share that Faith Technologies’ high rise team is currently wrapping up the second project in the series, Skyhouse Austin. Located in downtown Austin, the 23 story high-rise building features studio, one, two or three bedroom rentals – along with a clubroom, state of the art fitness center, and rooftop pool deck.

The project’s scope of work is very similar to that of Skyhouse Midtown; Faith Technologies installed the electrical, fiber optic/copper cabling, fire alarm, intercom/public address, lighting and security systems in the 23-story tower and seven story parking garage. Electricians installed two 4,000A services to feed the residential tower, and a 400A service for the adjacent parking garage. In addition, they put in a 600kW emergency diesel generator, two million feet of branch circuit wiring, and 200,000 feet of power distribution wiring.

To illuminate the high-rise building, the electricians installed low-energy consuming luminaires for the units, corridors, amenity areas, lobby, and other public spaces. Additionally, Faith Technologies used exterior fixtures with lighting shields in the parking garage and façade to minimize the impact of lighting pollution, and ensure the safety of migrating birds.
