Roll Out Services Continue to Grow
In 2012, Faith Technologies created a Roll Out Services Group (RSG) to oversee small jobs (less than one week) that involve electrical and/or monitoring and communication upgrades. The group has expanded at an incredible rate since the beginning of the year, and as the demand for wireless services continues to grow, so has the demand for upgrading and expanding the wireless networks available.
Across the country, cellular providers are enhancing their network coverage to provide their customers with better service, stronger signals, and fewer dropped calls. The number of cell tower sites in the U.S. has grown from 900 in 1985, to around 190,000 in 2012. The 4G network upgrades bring faster internet speeds to cell phones and other mobile devices, making the mobile internet much easier to navigate.
Faith Technologies has been busy upgrading cell towers in multiple markets including WI, IL, MN, MI, IN, MO, OK, KS, and AR. Earlier this year, our company was just beginning work in this market with four crews (consisting of about four employees each) completing the upgrades. By recruiting internally, in addition to a massive hiring effort, the company now has 55 crews in the field, and plans to have 100 total crews by the end of the year.
The increase in the number of crews in the field has also had a ripple effect on our office employees. A department that began with two managers and one coordinator earlier this year, now has expanded to six managers and five coordinators. Additionally, individuals have also been added in our human resources, safety, and learning and development/training departments to help support this initiative.
This exciting new venture has definitely been challenging at times, but with the support team the company has, the RSG group has been able grow and meet these challenges as they arise.
