Staten Island Ferry
The Staten Island Ferry is run by the City of New York for one pragmatic reason: To transport Staten Islanders to and from Manhattan. The ferry is the only non-vehicular mode of transportation between Staten Island and Manhattan. The vessels are double-ended steel ferries with a diesel electric propulsion system. Each vessel is designed to carry 4,400 passengers and 30 vehicles. There are five passenger cabins on four passenger decks, each with outdoor passenger areas.
As a subcontractor to Marinette Marine Corporation, Faith Technologies’ scope of work was to install devices on the four-passenger decks to specifically include:
- Closed Circuit Television
- Fire Alarm Devices
- Lighting Fixtures & Controls
- Marine Cable Installation & Termination (on the 3rd Ferry)
- Sound Systems
Faith Technologies completed three Staten Island Ferry projects; approximately 2,500 hour labor projects for device, and an additional 3,500 hours for cable installation.
