BICSI 2012 Winter Conference
On February 12-16, roughly 4,500 attendees from around the world attended the Building Industry Consulting Services International’s (BICSI) 2012 Winter Conference at the Coronado Springs Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
BICSI is a professional association that supports the information technology systems (ITS) industry, and I have been attending this conference for the past 18 years. Beyond the chance to escape the cold for a few winter days, there are many benefits that come with participating in this annual event.
In keeping with the latest industry trends, over 20 hours of technical, operational, motivational, and informational seminars are presented over the course of three days. Exhibitors are on hand presenting the latest in tools, resource materials, and installation products, and there was still plenty of time for networking with peers, customers, and distributors. An article I read in EC&M’s March 2012 issue entitled BICSI Field Report: 2012 Winter Conference did a great job of recapping the conference’s highlights and emerging trends.
To retain my status as a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), I am required to take 40 hours of qualified technical training each year. By simply attending this event, or one of the other two BICSI Conferences each year, I receive credit for all 40 of these required hours, so it is very worthwhile for me.
The relationship between BICSI and Faith Technologies remains strong. BICSI’s curriculum and publications form the core subject matter taught to our specialty systems installers and technicians. We are also a BICSI Prestige Platinum Corporate Member with multiple RCDD’s on staff.
The credibility we have earned through our training credentials and affiliation with BICSI has positioned Faith Technologies favorably for numerous specialty system and service projects.
