T-Rex

T-Rex, located in The Legends at Village West is a 19,000-square-foot family restaurant with a prehistoric dinosaur theme. This is the first T-Rex Restaurant to be built, with several more in the design stage. Notably the second, is to be built in Disneyland of Florida. T-Rex is a creation of Schussler Creative, the same creator of the Rain Forest Café Restaurants.

The challenges of this project began almost immediately during the bidding process and the fact there are very few standard light fixtures incorporated into the project. Faith Technologies estimating staff and engineers spent many hours finding pictures of these fixtures so that we could determine a labor unit for each type to incorporate into the bid. Due to this being the first restaurant of its kind, the challenges continued throughout the project in the form of constant changes and re-design.

This power distribution for the project consisted of a 2500 amp 480/277 volt service, two 400 Amp dimming cabinets for a total of 150 dimming circuits, two 800 Amp 208/120 volt distribution panels and five 250 Amp 208/120 volt branch panels.

The light fixtures for the project consisted of 1,750 light fixtures of which there were 355 different types. Also incorporated into the project were 120 three gang floor boxes, each having power, pneumatic tubes and data cabling for the control of animated creatures. Incorporating detailed preplanning with the use of auto cad drawings was a must on this project due to the immense quantity of items in such a small space. This detailed preplanning was the number one key item that allowed us to complete this project within budget and within the time frame set forth.

Faith Technologies performed the entire electrical installation including the fire alarm and sound system wiring.
